Ukrainian army has regained control of ‘several towns’ to the west of Kyiv

Ukrainian MP Inna Sovsun says the Russians haven’t moved any closer to Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, than they were “two or three weeks ago”.

“Actually, Ukrainian army has pushed them further from the city, and they also did recapture, regain control of several towns to the west of Kyiv, which has given us great hope,” Ms Sovsun told Sky News host Chris Kenny.

“But Russians are still continuing the fight; they’re still continuing to shell the city.”
