‘Pitiful’: Minute’s silence for Queen scrapped during AFLW Indigenous round

Sky News host Rita Panahi says it’s “pitiful” the AFL scrapped its decision to observe a minute’s silence for Queen Elizabeth II during the AFLW Indigenous round.

“There’s discomfort with remembering the monarch – possibly one of the most special, powerful, significant women in modern history, and this is supposed to be a women’s competition,” Ms Panahi said.

“And they cannot take a minute to pay tribute to her enormous contribution over 70 years.”
