There was hardly any growth evidenced by Jayeshbhai Jordaar as from Friday opening of Rs. 3.25 crores, the film moved to Rs. 4 crores on Saturday. Not that it was surprising since the writing was clear on the wall on Friday itself when footfalls remained largely static and critical as well as audience appreciation on the film stayed muted. In fact it wouldn’t have been really surprising had the collections in fact stayed the same as Friday or may be even went down a bit. In that aspect, at least there is some improvement is there, though by no means good enough.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness also had a similar growth only as after collecting Rs..3.25 crores* on Friday, it brought in Rs. 4 crores* more on Saturday. The difference here though is that the film is in its second week and since the job has already been done for the film, it can live with whatever is now coming its way. Yes, the numbers are still on the much lower side since the opening Friday of the film was almost about to touch Rs. 30 crores and then Saturday and Sunday were in the upwards of Rs. 20 crores. Here, the film is struggling to even touch Rs. 5 crores.
Meanwhile, KGF: Chapter 2 [Hindi] is all set for a weekend of 5 crores as there was growth evidenced on Saturday. With Rs. 1.70 crores* more coming in, the film is making its case for a good enough weekend, as it could very well have gone down had competition from Jayeshbhai Jordaar and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness been challenging enough. Since that’s not really the case, the film is managing to keep audiences interest, and in the process take its overall total to a mind-blowing Rs. 423.65 crores*.
*Estimates. Final numbers awaited.
